Verdemar III
is a modern apartment complex situated in
Costa Calida in Southern Spain. Costa Calida
meaning ' warm coast' boasts over 44Km of
'blue flag' beaches and is renowned for
its excellent climate and especially warm
winters. Yet in summer the refreshing sea
breezes mean it is rarely too hot.
Verdemar III
is about 150 yards from Mar Menor Beach
where the sands stretch as far as the eye
can see. The beaches of the Mediterranean
and Mar Menor are a haven for water sports
and are renowned world-wide as a prime scuba
diving location. Other local water sports
include sailing, sea fishing, para-sailing,
wind surfing and water skiing. The shallow
waters, an average 320 days of sunshine
per year, and the absence of tides makes
Mar Menor the ideal place for families to
relax and enjoy themselves. The relatively
flat Mar Menor is ideal for walking and
cycling whilst still being able to enjoy
the stunning views of the mountains in the
distance. Nearby is a full sized go-kart
track, riding stables and bicycle and quad
bike hire.
The Apartment
accommodates up to six people and is fully
furnished throughout in matching pine, offering
air conditioning/heating, a TV with Spanish
and English channels, DVD player and CD
player. A patio opens onto the sun terrace,
which provides a view of the swimming pool,
complex area as well as stunning sea views.
The kitchen is fully equipped with hob,
oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster,
kettle, cutlery and crockery.
With fully tiled
floors throughout the apartment has a lounge
with dining area plus a twin and double
bedroom both with superior beds and fitted
furniture.
All bedding
and sheets are provided. A travel cot and
high chair are available for small children.
The bathroom is fully tiled & fitted with
quality WC, bidet, bath & shower.
Full use of
the communal facilities are included and
these comprise of outdoor pool, indoor heated
pool, children's pool (according to season
), children's play area and an indoor gym.
The complex
is for Verdemar III residents only and provides
you with a designated parking spot for your
car in the underground car park.
The Area
Playa Honda
has restaurants, a supermarket, cafes and
bars all within a five minute walk. A pleasant
stroll along the beach brings you to Camping
La Manga with its own beach bar and excellent
reasonably priced restaurant. Just a short
car ride away is the world famous La Manga
Golf Club with its' championship courses
as well as tennis, spa facilities and much
more which are open to the public all year
round.
Cabo de Palos
laying between La Manga and Playa Honda
is a quaint fishing village providing many
traditional restaurants along the harbour,
a number of supermarkets and on Sunday mornings
a local market.
La Manga is
approximately 1 km from Playa Honda. It
is a narrow strip of land 22km long, which
encloses Mar Menor and separates it from
the Mediterranean Sea. It offers an abundance
of shops, bars and restaurants.
Murcia is the
capital city of the region and is recognised
as an attractive tourist destination. The
Cathedral, the Casino, the Salzillo Museum
and many other places of interest form part
of an historical and cultural package including
Spring festivals, folklore, the craft industry
. Murcia is a "made-to-measure " city ,ideal
for walking, feeling at home, good food'
enjoying the 2 million square metres of
gardens, or the wide modern avenues and
residential areas surrounding the Segura
river.
Cartagena is
a twenty minute drive away and is the second
largest city with all the shops you might
expect to find and many places of historical
interest including traces of old fortifications
that defended the port over its 3000 years
of history. A bus service runs from Cartagena
to La Manga stopping locally.
